My name is Jenny Bergmans and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I do this job

because I truly enjoy helping others. I am honored when others feel safe enough to share their

stories with me. I care about your well-being and will provide you with the tools you need in

order to seize the day and learn how to tackle even the most traumatic circumstances.

My counseling style is compassionate, empathetic, caring and understanding. I often try to see behaviors, attitudes and actions from a trauma informed perspective. This means that I believe that our behaviors, attitudes and actions are often developed as coping strategies from adversities we have faced in our lives.  Many of these coping strategies previously worked to keep us safe but may no longer be needed in our lives now or may now be disruptive to our lives and how we interact with others. Together we can try to understand and address these concerns while also working through them.

My style also comes from a strengths based, attachment and family systems perspective. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. I let you drive the therapy and encourage your strengths while also supporting your growth. I believe that you are always the true expert in your own life. I listen without judgement and always seek to understand. I strive to make our time together a safe and comfortable experience.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, enjoying nature, creating art and spending time with my friends and family.

I look forward to working with you on your journey!

Do you feel at times like the weight of your world is on your shoulders and you are barely able to breathe? Do you feel stuck in your life not knowing which direction to turn because you have lost yourself in the stressors of life? Are you someone who has just wanted to be heard, validated, and empowered to believe in yourself? We all experience these feelings, and you have taken the first step in your healing journey.

Allow me to walk alongside you and support you from a non judgmental, compassionate, empathetic and safe space. You are the expert in your life, and you know deep down inside what you envision for your life. I will be here as your therapist to challenge the statements of self-doubt when they arise, teach you how powerful your thoughts are, and show you that there is hope in healing no matter what life challenges have arisen for you. You can follow your dreams, no matter your age, or how long you have waited. The time is now, and I would be honored to begin this healing journey into supporting you to become the person that you have always envisioned yourself to be.

In today’s intricate mental health landscape, the importance of deep understanding and authentic connection cannot be overstated.

My journey as a foster alumna, a Child of a Deaf Adult (CODA), and a survivor of medical trauma uniquely informs my work as a mental health therapist. These diverse experiences have profoundly shaped my empathy and enriched my therapeutic practice, allowing me to approach each client with insight and compassion.

I firmly believe that every individual possesses innate strengths and the potential for meaningful growth. My therapeutic philosophy is centered on cultivating a collaborative and empowering environment where clients feel truly valued and understood. This supportive space fosters resilience and encourages transformative change.

Currently, I serve as a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) under the supervision of Jennifer Bergmans, LCSW, while pursuing my licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
